Weeks 1 & 2 Day Camper Info

This page is for Day Camper families to give you detailed information in regards to your child’s experience at our summer camp – what to expect on a daily basis, what they should bring, details about pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as information about who to contact in case you are running late or need to get in touch with our day camper staff.

Day Camper Daily Schedule:

  • 8:30-8:45    Arrive
  • 8:45-9:00    Camp Assembly
  • 9:00-10:30    Classes
  • 10:30-12:00    Classes
  • Noon-1:00    Camp Lunch
  • 1:00-2:30       All Classes
  • 2:30-4:00    All Classes
  • 4:00-5:30    Afternoon Activities
  • 5:30   Parent/Guardian Pickup

We ask that you drop off your child every morning at 8:30 am. This gives your child time to drop off their backpack at our office and get to class by 9 AM. They will attend 2 classes, have lunch, and return for their final classes in the afternoon. Following classes, we have afternoon activities and your day camper will be available for pick-up at 5:30 PM every day. The pick-up location is in the same place as the drop-off.

Day Camp Check In: We ask that Day Campers and their parents/guardians come to campus on the Sunday before camp at 5:30 pm. We invite you and your child to come meet David Kyser, our head day camper counselor, for an informational meeting. At 5:45, we ask that you leave your child to let them attend the opening camp meeting and to run through a mock-class schedule to find out class locations and meet their teachers. Parents can pick day campers up at 7:30 pm Sunday. This allows our day campers and their parents to find out about our camper drop off locations and our check-in and check-out procedures, talk to counselors about any specific needs your child might have, as well as pick up their AICL folders and t-shirt and so that everyone is ready on Monday morning.

What to Bring:  Your child should bring these items every day: water bottle, good shoes to run around in, light day pack, camp folder, weather appropriate clothing and any prescription medication with dosage guidelines.

What Not to Bring:  Your child should not bring cell phones, ipods, ipads, computers, unnecessary valuables (electronics, jewelry, etc.), any substantial amount of cash, weapons, pets, cigarettes, alcohol, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, non-prescribed prescription drugs, or any illegal substances.

The Closing Ceremony: Saturday morning will feature performances and the presentation of certificates. Please show up at 10:00 am to see all the festivities, and if your camper is performing, have them check with their teacher to make sure they are there on time. After the ceremony, everyone can say farewell, look around at the various class projects and you can plan on leaving the campus by noon on that day.
