We currently have 3 vacant seats on AICL's Board, so it's time for an election! Here are the details:
Anyone can run, but you have to be a member to vote.
To become a member, you must have either been an employee or volunteer, in good standing, for at least three years (they can be non-consecutive) since 2002, or have paid for/ sponsored a camper for at least five separate years since 2002. If you are eligible and would like to become a member, email me with your general contact information (mailing address and phone number) and I will sign you up. You can then pay the $5 annual fee at http://www.appalachianinstitute.org/donation/ or mail to AICL c/o Margaret Hoff 12201 McDougal Rd Millfield, OH 45761.
The term for all three seats is 1/1/18-12/31/20.
Board members are expected to do 8 hours a month of work for AICL OR donate or individually raise the equivalent of one week of tuition.
Board work can include outreach, fundraising, drafting letters, writing grants, etc. It could also involve serving on one of our committees.
Board meets approximately every six weeks via video conference.
Board members must attend camp's annual planning meeting, either in person (preferably) or via video conference. This meeting typically takes place in Knoxville, TN in the month of December.
If you're interested in running, please send a very short description of who you are, how you became involved with AICL, and why you'd like to be on the Board. Please submit your bio to Tara Watson at email@example.com by 3/10/18.
